Looking back into my older artwork I realized there's a lot of work I haven't shown on the blog. This includes part of my alternative process when designing my own concepts and characters.
First up is an early environment from the school days. Reproduction of an environment from a photograph.
Here is a low-poly character from school based on a character from the novel Water For Elephants. Based on a concept by Anthony Ashton. The first step is developing a strong silhouette from which I can then produce lines on top of and finish with some paint. I used this process towards a rough concept that was abandoned during Dominance War IV, an online art contest at GameArtisans.
I decided to go with Gravethorn at the time, but I do hope to someday return to this concept as a personal project.
More soon!
